IGS Nordic Branch – Oslo 2021
You can view the report of the meeting in the IGS newsletter, ICE numbers 186-187, 2nd and 3rd issues pp 20-21
The Nordic Branch Meeting of the International Glaciological Society (IGS) is an open meeting of glaciologists presenting and discussing their glaciological research. We encourage in particular participation by student/early-career scientists. The meeting is hosted by GeoHyd, Dept. of Geosciences, University of Oslo🡕.
The meeting will be held in person, but it is also possible to participate remotely for the scientific sessions although presentations can only be given by participants joining in person.
If you want to give a presentation at the meeting, please register with a tentative title, but no abstract is need
Note: NEW registration deadline: Register latest on 15 of October!!ed.
More information and registration can be found on the local website for the 2021 IGSNB in Oslo🡕.
Please note that the IGS Annual General Meeting will be held during the IGSNB meeting. It will be held on Friday afternoon and as we have not been able to hold an AGM since July 2019 it is extremely important we hold one now. We will hopefully be able to approve the amended IGS constitution. It will allow us to hold electronic meetings in future.

Costs
There is no registration fee for the meeting. The icebreaker, lunches, coffee breaks are covered by an external grant from the Norwegian Research Council (NFR) and support from NVE and IGS. There may be a small fee for the banquet/dinner on Friday (depending on number of participants).

Poster size is flexible because we will be using the walls of the meeting room and the hallways of the meeting room building as the poster session venue, and thus quite free on the format.
We would however recommend A0 as this is very convenient to travel with but you can go bigger if needed.
