Summer school on cryospheric monitoring and water resources in the Chilean Andes
We would like to draw your attention to a (southern hemisphere) summer school taking place 5-15 December in La Serena and La Laguna, Chile. The course will focus on combining satellite observations, close-range remote sensing techniques, and field-mapping to study glaciers and rock glaciers in a region where the cryosphere plays a significant role in local water resources. The course is organised by CHESS (Research school on changing climates in the coupled earth system), the University of Bergen, and CEAZA.
Although the school is primarily aimed at PhD students at Norwegian or members of the Norwegian CHESS school, thanks to generous funding from the UiB-academia agreement, we are able to fully cover travel expenses for (at least) four international PhD students.

Note that applicants from a non-Norwegian institute must attach a letter of support from their supervisor.
Deadline for registration is the 20th of June at 12:00 Norwegian time. For any questions please get in touch,
